How would you describe yourself?
While I’m not the “life of the party” person, I love talking to people. I appreciate learning different perspectives on things.
How long have you been involved in your business?
I started with Jamberry Nails in December 2014.
What keeps you motivated?
The products definitely keep me interested! Such great new products come out with each catalog.
Tell us a little about your family.
I exist in a house full of BOYS! I live in a dual income household with both my husband and I working full time. With twin 2-year-old boys, two dogs, and a full-time job, I don’t have much time for myself. Being able to spend 20 minutes doing my nails is all the “girl time” it takes!
How do you prioritize family and your business?
Family comes first! My little ones won’t stay little for long and I want to savor every precious moment. I also want to make sure my children have a stable home so that means DATE NIGHT!! I tend to have specific times set aside for my business. It is imperative to be able to have a routine – it helps manage everyone’s expectations (my family, my clients, and my downline.)
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself navigating the PTA and pick up/drop off lines. HA! In all seriousness, I would love to be a team manager. I enjoy the chance to inspire women without having to tow a “company line” that I don’t agree with.
Biggest life lesson learned?
There are three sides to every story: your side, the other person’s side, and the truth. Never assume anything. Realize that everyone has their own story and priorities.
Biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
You need to function at a level which you are happy with. No matter how accountable you are or how hard you try to do the “right thing,” people will talk – good and bad. As long as you are happy with the way you’ve handled a situation, nothing else really matters.
What is your secret to success?
Focusing on the light! Just as you could always find the “bad,” you could always find the “good.” It is a choice of which one to focus on finding.
All Entrepreneurs encounter bad days. How do you handle yours? I remind myself that each day starts with another chance to have the best day ever.
How do you relax?
Before kids, I’d scuba dive, snowboard…just generally be out and about. These days, if I’m not taking the kids for a walk to relax, you’ll find me with my nose in a book!
